ZeroAMP in the time of COVID-19

In ZeroAMP, all partners had to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic and local regulations to counter it.

While some partners were able to keep their facilities operational, e.g. by introduction of rigorous shift-schemes, others had to stop all their experimental work and are limited to tasks they can work on in home office. PhD candidates could not be hired due to travel restrictions. Project meetings, internal and external seminars had to be canceled.

Nonetheless, the ZeroAMP partners adapted to this situation. Our seminars and meetings are now all held as virtual events, enabling to share and discuss some initial insights and results with project members and with colleagues from other collaborative projects. We re-distributed tasks from partners those facilities are closed down to those partners still operational. We used the flexibility and creativity we usually use to envision and fabricate novel devices to find a way around the restrictions and limitations coming with COVID-19.

Hence, we tackle the current challenges to keep the project operational and to achieve ambitious scientific and technical goals in difficult and demanding times.

This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 871740 (ZeroAMP).
